He is not used to being talked to like the punk he is. You can bet this is a first. The way he demanded an apology so fast tells me he is used to demanding apologies from underlings for petty stuff and getting one right away.
Being dissed publicly does something to the minds of people who are used to being completely respected and getting whatever they want when they demand it. He is used to Yes, Mr. Romney. Or No Mr. Romney. He is not used to being called a possible felon on national TV.
He is out of his league here. And I think even he is starting to realize it.
Anyone else think about this?

Well, he's getting more potty training now.

(40,212 posts)I also think the republicans aren't used to being up against a guy like Obama. Obama got sick of their shit and has decided to bring a cannon to a gunfight. And the republicans are stuck with a pampered wuss.

(67,190 posts)The Obama campaigned wanted to instill a false sense of security inside the Romney campaign by making them think Bain was going to be out of bounds for the election and they relaxed and got complacent about it.
Then Bain blew up in their faces catching them off guard and they didn't know whether to shit or go blind.
Don
I hope you are correct about that, is there anything on the internets about this? I would like to have a better opinion of him

(67,190 posts)It was a charade that worked so well it even had a lot of Democrats fooled and up in arms. That is the only way something like that works. Everyone has to be fooled or it doesn't work.
Just have to give it some thought and it makes perfect sense.
I knew something was up at the time. Not sure exactly how it was supposed to work. But it is obvious now what the plan was all along.
There are never any coincidences in politics.

(16,350 posts)We are never that strategic. Also, Corey Booker is an up and coming super star. No way would he give that up, turn the base against him, to advance Obama or anybody else. And the party really can't afford to throw away someone that gifted and charismatic. Naah. Maybe some other Dem who is going nowhere. But not Corey Booker.
I wish the Democratic party was that strategic and focused. But it's not.
The Obama campaign is a different story, but I doubt even they could get Corey Booker to betray his own principles, and those of the party faithful, to that degree.
NNN0LHI
(67,190 posts)That is just my theory.
Nothing more.
I am not invested in this idea or anything. I didn't even know who Cory Booker was before he talked about Bain that day.

(23,998 posts)What, exactly, did that preening little puke demand an apology for?
brush
(53,792 posts)Cory Booker made a huge mistake. He's very ambitious and thought he should curry favor with the venture capital crowd because they are some of the very people that backed his campaigns for mayor of Newark. He miscalculated and damaged his brand in the party, maybe irreparably. He certainly won't be reaching the national level anytime soon.
NNN0LHI
(67,190 posts)Doesn't bother me.

(53,792 posts)He screwed up, got taken to the woodshed and we haven't heard a peep from him since he went on several shows to try to clean up his mistake. Meanwhile the President's campaign completely disregarded him and continue with their Bain bashing, which happens to be working beautifully.
enough
(13,259 posts)I hadn't heard. They gave him a second chance, huh. Betcha we won't hear any praise for vulture capitalist firms come out of his mouth again as the anti-Bain campaign is working brilliantly for the President.

(14,087 posts)He had been towing the big-money line for as long as I've seen him. I really do hope that the Obama camp had something to do with shutting him down. It would restore my faith in the democratic party. Our party has SOOOOO been taken over by people to the right of Barry Goldwater. That's why I keep saying:
AN EAGLE CANNOT FLY WITH TWO RIGHT WINGS!
And THIS America, THIS Eagle, has not been able to fly for a couple of decades. In fact, we've barely escaped crashing & burning on more than one occasion.

That's complete speculation, and doesn't seem very likely to me at all.

Good night miTT.
But I agree - he is used to having employees jumping to serve. He is so used to buying everything and anything - including people and their obedience.
Seems like he simply can't understand that his money can't buy the countries appreciation and admiration.

It would be good to see his nasty side come out on TV, I am sure it would be enough to make it so we never have to see his smarmy face or listen to his lies again.

(5,105 posts)That might be newsworthy.

(2,593 posts)some preparation. I think Kennedy hit him pretty hard as well. My fear is that he's waiting for the Super PAC money to come in and drown out all the criticism. That's why we've got to really damage his credibility and image now, with the hope that the big money boys can't save him.

(17,621 posts)There are just too many people in this country who know what it's like to lose jobs because of vampire capitalists like him. And the nonsense about not being involved with Bain Capital during the worst of its excesses just doesn't wash with them. He reminds them of every lousy boss they ever had.

(7,403 posts)They can't come to Romney's defense per se. They can't support a candidate; they can only attack who they don't like. That doesn't mean they can't say "Obama is a liar when he claims Romney shipped jobs overseas". They can't, however, say "Romney created 100,000 jobs at Staples"; only Romney claim that.

(8,419 posts)For Romney it is probably better that he is taking the weekend off. That being said, Team Obama, needs to tweak him back up next week and see if he goes into major meltdown mode.
Republicans can try to spin this, but their boy went on TV and begged like a wuss for an apology. Very, very un-Presidential.

(50,375 posts)and did it, partially, on the Bain issue. Romney has a habit of underestimating his opponents, imo. He did that with Kennedy and he has done it again with Obama.
He is, I think, led by his arrogant belief, voiced by his wife, that it's HIS turn and is learning a painful lesson, yet again, NO ONE gets an automatic 'buy-in'.

(1,374 posts)I expect to see Rev Wright ads any day now. Wouldn't be surprised to see the name Bill Ayers pop up again too. It won't work because America has had the real Obama as president for 3 1/2 years, but what else do they have? They'll throw everything at him to see what sticks before this is over.
