Daily Stormer is back... and got under attack by hackers within hours.

The Daily Stormer is back under the name "Punished Stormer" (because they are the true victims here), hosted by Dreamhost. Within hours of the launch of their new website, hackers began a DDoS-attack on the three Dreamhost DNS-servers responsible for handling incoming internet-traffic to the Punished Stormer-website. The Punished Stormer is currently down.

I think that they next gave go daddy a spin again, but they soon kicked them.

I do like their new name though lol. So self-sensitive!

I would like to think so, since they really haven't done a whole lot lately.

These hate groups are massively outnumbered and at a time the left is highly active. Hate groups like this will not go unchallenged - overwhelmingly. Nicely done Internet.

I've used Dreamhost. Anyone can go on their website, sign up and pay for webhosting, and have a site up and running in short order - it's all automated on Dreamhost's end.

Of course, when Dreamhost found out, well, it's like here - you create a new account to evade the banhammering you got on your last account, and the admins show no mercy.

dreamhost actually accepted them and knew it, they said that in a blog post. They are very free speech, and allow any content that isn't prohibited under US law.

The kicked them because stormer was causing their network to bog down (due to DDOS attacks), thus affecting other users, which is against the TOS.

and gives hate groups a persecution narrative (that they thrive on) that their ideas are really correct, if they would just be given a chance to air them. As long as they aren't advocating violence they should be allowed to discuss their views, no matter how ugly.

I think it is much better now that the alt-right (that has existed all over the internet for years, in places like facebook, youtube etc) has crawled out from under their rocks, so that they their ideas can be rebutted and challenged in the light of day, instead of festering and influencing culture and politics in subversive ways.

These people are not being denied the right to walk down the street and spew their hate speech. Businesses are exercising their right to refuse service to anyone that breaks their term of service. And besides the government wasn't involved in any of these bans, which is who you are protected from, not protected from a business suppressing your free speech.
