Gas prices will be going up sharply, if they haven't already. Houston is about to get shut down and that's going to affect gasoline prices throughout the country, even in places where their gasoline comes from somewhere else. That's how gas prices work. If there's a shortage anywhere, prices go up everywhere.

(146,331 posts)We don't drive all that much, so those fillups will last a couple of weeks at least. With my supermarket loyalty card, it was $1.89.9 per gallon. That's going to look like a bargain next week.

(22,976 posts)Unaware of the potential price hike. But your quite correct -- any disruption in the fuel delivery chain results in a hike at the pumps. Don't drive much, should be okay for a month or so.
But thanks for the heads-up!
