Religious Order of Nuns Leaves Corpus Christi, TX - What Did They Know?

http://amarillo.com/faith/2017-06-17/carmelite-sisters-leave-corpus-christi-after-92-years

Carmelite Sisters to leave Corpus Christi after 92 years

The home’s closure also means that the Carmelite Sisters will leave Corpus Christi. The band of sisters have served the Diocese of Corpus Christi for 92 years. {Note: The place closed on July 31, 2017}

Heisler said the eight nuns will disperse throughout the order’s North and Central provinces in the United States. Some could go overseas depending on their service.

In her 80s, Sister Mary Concepta Chang has served the home since the 1970s, the longest of any of the sisters.

Were they warned? Did they know something? Who can say?

During that one the nuns at an orphanage tied the dozens of orphans together and to themselves as the water rose and buildings disappeared. All of them were killed.

There's a grotto/shrine there built by a nun in the early 1920s after she experienced horrible hurricanes and saw the loss of life.

She built the grotto, and said that as long as it stands, Key West will never bear the full brunt of a hurricane. Yes, I went through some harrowing times during a few hurricanes, but there was no loss of life.

I'm not Catholic, but along with many others - we all would go and light a candle there as storms approached. To this day, Key West has still not had a direct hit from a bad storm.

You can google it - it's a very cool place.
