Corpus has a fairly solid track record of boil orders after any sort of heavy rain. My kid was there at the A&M branch for her freshman year, and there were 4 or 5 boil orders in that period of time. That water system is not at all robust.

to run a bathtub full of water before the storm hit. It's potable for a couple of days as is, and after that can be used for cooking, washing dishes, flushing the toilet, and things like that once bottled water is drinking water.

This mess could take weeks. Every bit helps.
