Weather Channel reporting Addicks and Barker Reservoirs will be releasing water overnight

This will go down the bayou through the heart of Houston. Two huge reservoirs where water will be released. Sorry, don't know the names of the reservoirs. Will try to look it up.

Addicks and
Barker Reservoirs

Says they are old and are worried they may collapse.

If the reservoirs overflow and collapse, then flooding downstream would be sudden and much worse.

They'll still be retaining more than they release. They'll have to wait until later, they hope, to release more.

The communities to the west of the two reservoirs will at least partly go under water anyway. They've never flooded before.
