Asking why he wanted relief for Harvey victims when he voted against the same for Sandy victims.
Cruz squirrelling as usual. (No offense to actual squirrels)

(12,634 posts)they reported his excuse was: "Oh, THAT appropriation was bloated."

(11,878 posts)I heard the same spiel from Congressmen this morning and from Crux just now.
It goes like this..."I opposed hurricane Sandy relief because the bill was larded up with goodies proposed by Democrats who treated Sandy like a Christmas tree, to hang all of their funding requests on, thinking they could hold Republicans over a barrel knowing it was important to help the Victims. of the Storm."
Which is, needless to say, bullshit.

(180 posts)name some of those "bloated provisions" that caused you to vote NO. What were the specifics, and what would have been acceptable levels of funding? Did you offer amendments? Did you work on a bipartisan proposal that would have limited spending only to emergency needs for the hurricane response/reconstruction?
Instead, Cruz and all his fellow GOP bobbleheads get to spout their talking points with zero push back. Then it's....Sorry, that's all the time we have (to discuss an issue of vital importance to millions suffering). Now for a word from our sponsors. When we return, we will be joined by special guest Newt Gingrich for our panel discussion of why Democrats don't have a coherent message and nobody knows where they stand on anything.
Run this sequence in a loop every 40 minutes the entire day to make sure it really sinks in. Repeat the lie enough times....

(10,611 posts)How many times did legislation during President Obama's terms stall because the GOP wouldn't allow clean bills?
How many times did they deliberately attach riders to defund Planned Parenthood and other Democratic non-starters to ensure that a measure wouldn't pass?
How many times have the GOP voted to defund critical social services?
I know that at the end of the day, the MSM is a GOP-owned enabler, but I don't even see Dem tweets pointing these things out.

Katy was relentless, so good on her.
My favorite opinion about Cruz from Al Franken:
"I like Ted Cruz more than anybody else in the Senate does. And I hate Ted Cruz."

We are presently a disgusting bunch, greedy and filled with hate. Well, about half of us are anyway.

"twas a thing of beauty and wonder to behold. That little interchange made my morning. I do believe Ms. Tur had her last nerve fried months ago. I can't wait to read her book about the campaign.

(10,419 posts)Now she's going after Trumpy for using Harvey as a springboard to launch his own personal issues like Arpaio and The Wall while diverting resources from TX residents.
Go Katy!
