I just voted. Little election to replace a school board member in my district today

Arrived at 7 and was voter 32. Retiring member is a republican on what is supposed to be a non-partisan position, but has become increasing partisan thanks to home schooling/tea party clowns trying to strip money out of the public schools. The Democratic sponsored candidate is Karen Key-Gamarra.

Wish more people saw value in the tiny unknown, un-publicized elections. They affect your live much more directly than Presidents and Senators, plus these local election is where future candidates get their start. It is important to stop certain candidates early.

Let us know the outcome. The Republican sounded like a real piece of work.

local elections. The Rs have been very good at running in these elections, which then leads to state legislatures, which then leads to Congress.

Dems should be running reasonable candidates everywhere!

When you feed your ballot into the optical scanner, it displays the number of counted votes at the top center. (In case you didn't know)

If that's right, there are a few of us potential constituents here at DU. I'd love to vote for her and I'm sure I'm not alone. Could you pm me her name or post it here if you're comfortable with that.

if anyone is in that district and wants to help either reply here or pm me.

mostly wheaton, west chicago, carol stream.

working on getting all the paperwork, and getting her on act blue or nation builder. trust me, i will be pounding a contribution link as soon as we get it up.

she could use petition passers starting sept 5.

i appear to be her de facto campaign manager until we raise enough money to get someone competent. lol.

Actually, a blow out. A good future predictor for the Governor race and demise of Trumpy politics?
