Mother Nature has a way of letting us humans know who is really in charge. All the development, water control infrastucture, oil & gas mega-industries, tearing at her insides to rip out what we need leaving filth behind to power our wants....is impotent, ultimately, in the face of she who rules all.
Just tragically sad.

...we are playing on her field and by her rules.
She may change the metaphorical rules any time she wants.
If she wants extra innings, poof, the game requires 30 innings, not 9.
All of a sudden the runs we earned in the 4th inning now count against us, not for us...oh, and there are no rain delays.
You just have to keep playing.
