No....he didn't. He won by 9 points. Smallest repuke Presidential margin in TX in a looonnnngggg time.
Hence why Russian targeted Dallas County voting rolls pre election. And why the Russians in Houston's Russia consulate asked to monitor Harris County voting polls on Election Day (request was denied). Drumf knew how small the margin was and he was scared shitless. After all...it was just a given that TX would go red so no one would get suspicious when it did, no one would say "only won the crown jewel by NINE POINTS.
The pre Election Day polls were at one point within the margin of error and took a long time to get to a double digit difference.
But the media was too fixated on official swing states to see what was happening down in the assumed republican crown jewel.
Even now the media is giving the illusion of TX being all drumf land.

(24,461 posts)We went from 22 (2008) to 18 (2012) to EIGHT counties. What the flibbity FUCK, Slowhio??
All you have as a Dem here is Sherrod Brown, who is a constant voice for labor and anti-unfair TAs. Everything else - Republicans. Your other rubberstamp Senator, your governor, your State Legislature for the past two decades, etc. If you're experiencing economic shittiness, that's on Y'ALL. That's on your corporate-bought government you keep putting in there.

(13,424 posts)There are more than enough unregistered potential voters in Texas to make it a purple (at worst) state for all federal and statewide elections. If people aren't registered to vote, there is no way the state will ever stop electing ignorant, bigoted Republicans.

(10,611 posts)they're stealthily trying to correlate Trump's willingness to help with states that he "won" in the GE.
Unfortunately, it's easy to believe the former. Like everyone else, maybe they don't want to piss him off and lose their WH media access. That's what happens when you have a volatile, thin-skinned, vindictive tyrant who needs constant ego-stroking.
