Giuliani: Romney’s only job at Bain was to make money
By Laura Vozzella

Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani defended Mitt Romney’s business career during an appearance near Richmond Friday, saying the Republican presidential candidate’s sole responsibility in the private sector was to make money, legally, for investors.

“His job at Bain Capital was to create returns for his investors, to make his investors money,” Giuliani said. “That was his job. Nothing else. ... He made them millions, and millions, and millions of dollars.”

<...>

...“The man was fabulously successful at Bain doing what you legally are supposed to do at Bain, and doing it legally. And he made a fortune. God bless him. I’m not jealous. I’m not envious. I just want to read his book and follow his program.”

Giuliani says what we already know. Companies like Bain are not about creating jobs. They are about making millions for investors. They are about maximizing profit.

Romney was no job creator. He was about maximizing profits for his wealthy investors.

Cuz running the government ain't about making money for shareholders. Different "industry" altogether.

5. So Romney should say that: yes, we outsourced, LBO'd, and shitcanned as many workers as we needed to

That should be Romney's platform. We're not envious either: Romney should run on "I was making money for shareholders, and Devil take the hindmost."

He should make commercials to that effect. Let's make it a referendum on vulture capitalism. Let's see how capitalist the American public really wants to be. Let Romney run on the Greed is Good ticket, the Close the Goddamn Plants ticket, the China's Workers are Cheaper ticket.

Please, dear God, let him do that. Take a clue from awesome Presidential election strategist Rudy Giuliani, of "Let's Gamble on Just Winning Florida" fame. We want Rudy to replace Gillespie as the main Romney strategist. That would be awesome!

Tell us something we don't already know.

When some people question why I would challenge his Bain record, the point I’ve made there in the past is, if you’re a head of a large private equity firm or hedge fund, your job is to make money. It’s not to create jobs. It’s not even to create a successful business – it’s to make sure that you’re maximizing returns for your investor. Now that’s appropriate. That’s part of the American way. That’s part of the system. But that doesn’t necessarily make you qualified to think about the economy as a whole, because as president, my job is to think about the workers. My job is to think about communities, where jobs have been outsourced.

Funny, now the GOP clowns are trying to retroactively refute Romney's entire campaign to try to take the focus off the Bain lies. I mean, he initially claimed to have created a brazillion jobs at Bain. That lie went poof!

Dear sir or madam,

I am writing to you from Nigeria. I am the crown prince, but since the funds have been seized, I need a contact that is legitimate. You are such a legitimate contact, and I am reaching out to you.

Please forward your voter registration, common sense, and banking information, and I will send you enough money for you to be as rich as I am.

Mitt Romney.
