...when he is ridiculed
I insist : Trump, only Trump. Not America nor Americans.
Here a collection of a German cartoonist, Guido Kuehn. He is very good.
As usual, Trump focused on himself

(5,101 posts)My way to try to bring you a little comfort these dark days and to tell you that we, Europeans love you.
Alas, not much but sincere and it comes from the bottom of my heart.

(20,219 posts)Many of us wish we could move to Europe, now.
You know, Germany endured the horrific consequences of a pathological, cunning and vindictive man using propaganda to take power, but has learned from the experience and built an excellent system. That's how it seems to me, anyway.
I hope the U.S. will learn from this too, and create something much better.
And get rid of lying propaganda networks, please!

(21,180 posts)I have really enjoyed the cartoons from Europe. When I was in Europe in March I saw a lot of ant twitler cartoons and asked people to translate for me. We're going again March 2018 and will interested in hearing what they think. I got an earful from several people last year about how could we elect such an idiot after the elegant and intelligent Obama.

(5,101 posts)This is the problem : Trump didn't win the popular vote.
The vast majority here hate Trump as much as you. At least, speaking in my own name but I'm not the one.
You have to get rid of this Electoral College or, at least, change the rules.
I mean, the problem is not really the Electoral College but the power in the president hands.
Indirect choose is not a problem if the presidential function is honorific. Such is the case in many countries (Germany, Italy,...)
But if the president has a real power, I think he has to be chosen by the population directly.

(10,419 posts)You know most of us in the US are disgusted beyond belief. Now our bewigged twit is rattling his saber against North Korea and China. It is significant that today's White House statement on the nuclear threat was delivered by our Secretary of Defense, and not the Trumpster - who was no doubt locked in a closet during the official statement.
Thank you for the cartoons. The sepia ones remind me of those my father drew during his service in World War II, where he served in England and France. I remember one of a little girl approaching an American GI and asking "Avez-vous du chocolat?"
Feel free to correct my French!
