a) Yes, there are some racial-name-based assumptions in this post title to support the joke. no offense intended to folks who may or may not be named Irma or Jose. But if anyone's name here does happen to be Irma... you have my condolences.

Does hurricane season peak on the 15th? (I know, it's cliche, cuz it never works out that way)

(60,010 posts)But that is based on "normal" temps, actually. If the waters stay hot enough, and if the Africa coast continues to produce them, anything can happen.
Another thing which could happen is an increase of water tornadoes, called water spouts. They show up in the warmer waters, esp. around Fla. but are a product of a thunderstorm.
