Melissa McCarthy Wins Emmy for Her Portrayal of Sean Spicer

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Dave Chappelle and Melissa McCarthy won best guest actor and actress in a comedy series Emmys for hosting Saturday Night Live.

McCarthy also notably portrayed now-former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on the show on several occasions, winning raves for her impersonation.

The 42-year-old variety show is coming off a huge year as it took advantage of the election and Trump presidency to draw an average of 11 million weekly viewers to see a slew of impersonators; in addition to McCarthy, Kate McKinnon portrayed Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Beck Bennett as Vice President Mike Pence and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Yet they mentioned she portrayed Jeff Sessions? She did that once, I think, and not memorable.

There was one with Hillary in a bar. Then there was the famous one where she plays Hillary in a debate (Baldwin-Trump hangs behind her in creepy mode). She was outstanding in that one. Then there were the other debates that she did. Then there were several short appearances.

Then McKinnon, as HRC, sings the song "Halleluyah" after the election. She did HRC regularly, like Baldwin did Trump.

Like I said...How could the article fail to mention that? HRC isn't easy to do, but McKinnon was excellent.
