Trails close for elk mating at Rocky Mountain National ParkCertain trails and rivers will be closed in the evenings so that elks can mate peacefully at the Rocky Mountain National Park.
According to a Rocky Mountain National Park news release, patrons will not be allowed to travel through the following trails via foot or horse: Horseshoe Park, Upper Beaver Meadows, Moraine Park, Harbison Meadow and Holzwarth Meadow. The park has also prohibited fishing in the Fall River, Thompson River and Colorado River throughout the evenings.
The closures will be from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Oct. 31.

Thanks for posting something non-disastrous! The closure times of 5pm to 7am crack me up. I guess elk don't do the deed in the daytime?

So, give the elk their chance.

I'd suggest piping in some vintage Barry White, but that might be a bit too much.
