Who believes this bullshit excuse to shoot a homeless person?

.

Nashville woman shot homeless man who asked her to move her Porsche — then left him to die: police

The Tennessean reports that 54-year-old homeless man Gerald Melton was critically injured this week when he was shot twice by Katie Quackenbush, who was driving a Porsche SUV near the area where he was trying to sleep.

Police say Melton asked Quackenbush to move the SUV because its exhaust fumes and loud music were impairing his ability to sleep. The two then got into a loud argument with each other, and then Quackenbush allegedly exited the vehicle holding a gun that she then used to shoot Melton twice, leaving him with a wounded abdomen.

Police say Quackenbush then got back into her car and fled the scene.

Quackenbush’s father, Texas attorney Jesse Quackenbush, defended his daughter after her arrest by claiming that the homeless man was threatening to kill her shortly before she decided to get out of the car and fire her weapon at him.

She didn’t try and kill this guy,” he said. “She had no intention of killing him. She didn’t know that she hit him… She did say she closed her eyes when she shot both times, but they were warnings, and she thought she pointed away from him.

Quackenbush? Her father shouldn't be an attorney--he should have been a gynecologist!

We'd see an aggressive rounding-up of the homeless and stiff new penalties for vagrancy along with a serious uptick in violence against the homeless.

Just another reason why I hate rawstory besides the fact the ads clog up my computing machine.

Sounds legit. Gut shoot a guy and go grab a bite to eat. Presumably drunk food at 3am in the music district.

Katie Quackenbush, a single mother to a 5-year-old boy, had driven a friend back to her car when the women reportedly saw Melton harassing other women in the street nearby, Jesse said.

Melton then approached Quackenbush and her friend in the vehicle.

“He comes up to their window and starts screaming in their window various threats, and something about turning their music down and that he couldn’t sleep,” Jesse said.

After the man walked away, Katie Quackenbush got out of her car to escort her friend to a vehicle parked close by. She grabbed her gun and put a magazine inside.

Melton allegedly began walking toward her again, Jesse said, at which time his daughter told Melton she had a gun.

She fired two “warning shots” and then left, because Melton reportedly continued to approach the women.

“She did say she closed her eyes when she shot both times, but they were warnings, and she thought she pointed away from him,” Jesse recalled.

When asked whether his daughter heard Melton scream or indicate he had been shot, Jesse Quackenbush said there was no indication he was injured.

Suspect has cooperated with police, father says

The women left, deciding to go to a restaurant and come back later to deliver the passenger to her vehicle.

"Look out, he's coming right for us"

16. SHOOTING WITH HER EYES CLOSED?! Is it just legal to shoot a gun wildly, without knowing if

anyone else in the vicinity not involved with this disgusting woman and her stupid Porsche could be killed by her reckless behavior?! And, sigh, the absurd sounding story of "the big mean homeless man scared me and my bestie so I got out of my car and shot wildly in his direction -- you know, what every responsible person would do" -- and the disgusting, total disregard for the lives of anyone of color and anyone who is homeless. Fuck this shit -- it is really like those Purge movies.

Nothing prevented this asshole from driving away. Nothing. Instead she (she also has another assault in her history) decided to kill another human being (I don't buy the absurd "I closed my eyes" claim for a second), leave the scene, neglect to call emergency services or the police because fuck that homeless scum or you know in case I shot someone else when I fired my fucking gun with my eyes closed, GO OUT TO EAT (who would do this besides a sociopath?!), and then run home to daddy so daddy can think of an excuse to keep this sociopath out of jail for murder.

But, no. Get out the car and shoot a magazine pistol in somebody's general direction with one's eyes closed.

Seems completely reasonable alternative. Or not.
