(11,088 posts)Eventually kill us if we let it get the better. And that if we allow these fears to divide us, it will eventually, absolutely take over.

(32,707 posts)the movie takes place in. It felt nostalgic, but I couldn't get my head back into that space. It seems like the target age group might be millennials who have never really experienced the 80s movies (ET, Gremlins, etc).

(29,672 posts)sorry......didn't think that was appropriate at all. JMHO. The first "It" didn't have to push all the realities that this version did. I enjoyed the innuendoes of the first version, NOT the graphic images of this one, and again JMHO.
i learned a lot of my cursing skills in the early 80's reading Stephen King books. Salem's Lot is my favorite of his, scared the living shit out of me when i was a kid. don't know. we cursed like sailors. once we learned "fuck", that was it.

(28,946 posts)and I did enjoy the dynamic of each kids own demons being almost like a metaphor for IT. How by them sticking together "supporting one another" they could cope with "It" and beat it. Perhaps there is a lesson there for DU. Stop all the stupid infighting and stand up to "IT". That fucking dick head pretending to be president.

(1,355 posts)The real IT were the kids parents, who all sucked. The film was more about family dynamics than real horror.
