Another day, another Trump-Russia bombshell. The New York Times has published a piece that's chock-full of internal White House intrigue, but the most important revelation in it might be the way the outlet discovered it rather than the intrigue itself.
Any Trump fan who's holding out hope that Donald Trump's presidency will survive his clear obstruction of justice, or the clear pattern of behavior that suggests illegal collusion with Russia, ought to reconsider once they read how the Times got a hold of its reporting on Trump lawyers John Dowd and Ty Cobb:
The suspicion within the legal team seemed evident in the lunch conversation Mr. Cobb had last week with Mr. Dowd at BLT Steak, not far from the White House and a few doors down from The Times's office. A reporter who happened to be at the next table heard Mr. Cobb describing varying views of how to respond to Mr. Mueller's requests for documents.
The report also says that paranoid White House staffers now fear their colleagues are wearing wires for special counsel Robert Mueller, which is hilarious given the fact that all Mueller really needs to do is tip the right hostess.
