Yes - The Repugs Campaigned On Repealing & Replacing ACA.....

and Grassley says they have the responsibility of making good on their campaign promise. However, the key word is responsible.

Just because they promised something in their campaign doesn't mean that they should willy nilly pass anything just to make good on their promise - even if it is bad - just to fulfill their promise.

They need to think and act responsibly - and they are not. They are acting in desperation - and the American People know this.

If the Repugs pass this new attempt at repealing and replacing ACA - they will pay for it in 2018 and 2020.

The American People have their number and the Repugs number will be up in 2018 and 2020.

We now have to rely on the few Repugs that are approaching this vote responsibly.

Call them today. Murkowski, Collins, McCain, Paul and a few of the others mentioned in other posts here on DU that are leaning 'no'.

It's now a matter of integrity for Murkowski, Collins and McCain. Will they be bought off or approach this vote with integrity and vote as they did a few months ago - NO!!!!

Because a Democrat, even worse, a black democrat, did something great for the country.

And they can not have that!!

of John the Baptist at Sunday School for the first time. The backstory was that King Herod, pleased with his stepdaughter's dance in his honor at a banquet, told her she would be rewarded with a gift of her own choosing, anything she wanted, even half of the kingdom." She went and asked her mother what she should ask for, and mom, who had a deep grudge, told her she should ask for John the Baptist's head on a platter. The king was deeply troubled by this unexpected response but after all, he had promised, in front of everyone, and the deed was done. Our moral lesson on that day, one that has stayed with me ever since, was, and I quote, "Two wrongs don't make a right." Even though keeping your word is generally the right thing to do, there is no moral justification to keeping a rash promise that should never have been made and that has evil consequences. I understood that as clearly at age 4 or 5 as I do today. How can it be so difficult for GOP senators?

Damn. Now we have posters defining common terms ("dotard" ), describing common knowledge (see above), and wondering why Republicans aren't acting responsibly.

I'm either too old or not old enough.

When I was living in Massachusetts, I once went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant with a group of well-educated colleagues. We were planning to share the meal family style, and weren't sure how many dishes to order. Some in the group didn't think were were ordering enough, but when we had all finished, there was still a surprising amount of food left over. I remarked that it was like the loaves and the fishes, and not one of my intelligent, well-educated co-workers knew what I was alluding to. So I do not take it for granted that "everyone here knows the story of John the Baptist." As a matter of fact, again in Massachusetts, I once had a conversation with a man named John, a college graduate in his 30's who attended Mass every Sunday and regarded John the Baptist as his patron saint, who did not know the story of his demise. My concept of "common knowledge" has evolved over the years and I am often surprised but don't judge. I find some people to be quite arrogant about what everyone "should" know.

EVERYTHING OBAMA.

It is crystal clear and always in their history has been that Republicans work for the wealthy, not for the citizenry.

This time, it is blatant that their rich donors have threatened to cut off the flow of filthy campaign lucre if more govt money isn't directed towards them.

The "silver lining" if this passes could be the complete annihilation of the KGOP
