... and whether or not he has pets... and suggesting that this reveals something about his psyche. Frankly, this kind of "logic" and association risks insulting people who (for whatever reasons) do not have pets.

I know many fine people who do not have pets. They're all wonderful human beings. Their lack of being pet-owners does not make them any less worthy of respect. It doesn't make them less trustworthy, or less honest, or less loving, or less friendly. People should not be diminished or disparaged for not being pet owners.

Look, I hate Donald Trump as much as anyone, but it's wrong to make these broad-brush attacks that also insinuate that pet-free families, couples or individuals are inferior to others who DO own pets. (Even if you didn't "mean it"... I'm just letting you know how it sounds and comes across.)

There are many many reasons (other than health-related) that people do not have pets. Age. Mobility. Finances. Work schedule. Lease prohibitions. Been-there-done-that. Patience. Interest. Children. Small living space.

I know, and I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I'm letting you know how it comes across and that it looks petty to focus on something as trivial as that.

We lose credibility when we later focus our criticisms on the "big stuff" (because we've already demonstrated an inability to discern that which is important from that which is trivial.)
