i don't trust mccain one bit. it would be just like him to "dramatically" revert to yes

at the last minute.

sure, he's got good reasons to vote no, but then again, in truth, so does every senator. even mcturtle could kill it and go back to his constituents and say we'll have a better repeal bill next fiscal year. it's just that bad of a bill. yet roughly 49 have found it in their dark dark souls to vote against the health and finances of so many of their own constituents. why should mccain be any different?

he's into getting attention, and he's into the drama. he may well switch his vote for some stupid provision or some other kind of deal.

we cannot rest.

in order to re-introduce repeal under reconciliation rules, they'd need to pass a budget first, and that takes time. but once that passes, they can try again, once each year.

but we'd get a few months to recharge, anyway....

10. no "lie" would be involved in him eventually voting yes.

his latest announcement merely said he was a no at this time. he left the door open to eventually voting yes, presumably in exchange for something.

as for "based on what", you may recall he surprised many with his "dramatic" thumbs down no vote last time around, after his "heroic" flight back to help mcturtle keep the process open. again, no "lie" was involved as he never promised a yes vote, but still, he got his "maverick" act in, and all the attention he loves.

There wasn't a surprise vote change for the first Senate Bill or the second. There won't be for this one.

His tone was not conspiratorial; he was expressing his own opinion.

How about Let's stop reading into what someone is saying.

11. a conspiracy consisting of mccain and, uh, himself?

mcain hasn't shut any doors. no conspiracy, but i think he's honestly open to changing his vote, i just don't know what his ask is, or whether mcturtle can give it to him.

in any event, the point is that we can't be complacent. our work is not done yet.

And Senator McCain has terminal cancer and he knows it.

At this point in his life, I believe McCain is doing what he thinks is best.

Consider that McCain has been in the Senate a very long time - including a time where the Senate actually did work together to pass legislation.

Today, Congress bears almost no resemblance than the Congress in the 1980s and part of the 1990s.

Collins, Murkowski, and/or Paul may change their vote at the last minute. But not McCain.

But I think he hates Pussy Grabber so much that he's willing to go against his "principle" of fucking the American public. Normally McShit would be first in line to rape America. But since Pussy Grabber insulted him, THAT is much more important for McShit than the welfare of the country. What I'm saying is that McShit is only doing it for personal revenge.

In any case, I can't say I'm unhappy to see it happen, but let's not praise McShit for any acts of altruism.

15. On a scale of 0-100 how likely do you think it is he will vote yes ?

Put me down as a 0. I suspect one of the reasons he voted no is to take the pressure off other Republicants who want to vote no but are afraid of their donors.

Plus, McCain craves the adoration of the elites and he's getting it buckets.

18. If that were the case, wouldn't he coordinate and let them go first - making him the vote that kills

it. I do agree he has nothing to lose. I suspect that he sees that nothing can politically hurt him. Supporting a terrible bill out of fear of Trump and McConnell would destroy his legacy.

17. I don't think so - he spoke of "in good conscience"

I suspect many Senators could use those words and then change. However, as frustrating as McCain can be, one constant has been his own concern about honor. The concern that made his stay as POW. There are words that once you use them, you really can not go back.

I suspect that McCain knows this is a poorly thought out bill that will not end well if implemented. His main point when he last voted no was that it should follow regular order and have hearings. This bill has not.
