(505 posts)Alexander Gauland, one of AfDs leaders, told party supporters after the results that in parliament: We will go after them. We will claim back our country.
"Them" = the future Merkel government.
Also, he wants to claim back our "Volk". Wikipedia: "However, because of its past, the word [Volk] is rarely used, with Bevölkerung ("population" ) serving as a substitute".
I'm not even sure what "Volk zurückholen" means. Maybe he wants a pure, aryan Volk, just like it used to be. Or it's related to the "Umvolkung" conspiracy theory, according to which Merkel and others want to replace the German Volk with refugees, and now Gauland wants that old Volk (i.e. no refugees, no muslims) back.
This is bad. I feel terrible, but I knew this would happen. Nothing I can do now I guess.

ISIS and the hard right are soul mates because they want the same thing, a society broken up into competing bunkers and becoming more reliant on them.
It's just shocking to see that so far, each person killed in Germany by terrorist attacks translated to ~1% of AfD votes. I hope this won't extrapolate up to 100%.
They say "resist the beginnings", but it seems all kinds of resistance in recent weeks has only helped them to grow stronger. Things seemed a lot better when nobody talked about them and they just shared their extremely hateful thoughts among themselves, without anyone reporting on them. It's the Trump effect, I guess.
