(10,749 posts)OK. So the specs now call for a see-through wall.
Disclaimer. I don't know shit about see-through walls or engineering or science.
Google, however, is my friend.
The thickest lucite I could find is 1" thick. Could thicker see-through plastics be made? Don't know. How heavy would it be. How about raw materials? What would the volume of oil required for this idiocy do to world oil prices? Is lucite/plexiglass bullet proof? Crash proof?
Or bullet proof glass. I saw that something called rank b7 would create a windshield that weighs 500 pounds. Consider structural support required for a wall of this material. Same with the plastics. Crash proof?
Also, it's clear. Nifty idea.
Until folks on the other size decide to paint it black. Or paint anti-US slogans. Or add graffiti.
And on and on and on.
