President Trump on Monday praised football fans who booed NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem on Sunday, as he continued for a fourth day his campaign to pressure team owners on the issue.
These are fans who demand respect for our Flag! Trump said in a series of morning tweets, also asserting that only a small percentage of players knelt.

How long will it be till a riot breaks out at an NFL game because of this asshole?
This is straight out of the third reich.

We all know Trump has openly incited violence, in a number of circumstances. Please don't use that phrase lightly, when referring to supporting fans who verbally disagree with the protessts. (The strongest "incitement" I can find in the linked article.)

Ms. Toad
(34,073 posts)Where did Trump encourage beating up people at games? I am asking for a link because I have not seen anything suggesting he did more than agree with those who were booing.
If there is not more, it is irresponsible to suggest that he was inciting violence.

He didn't tell his brownshirts to attack her directly, it was in the tone of his voice and all the Trumptards heard the dog whistle.
She was afraid for her life and got a multitude of death threats.
But you already knew that.
Ms. Toad
(34,073 posts)but it is orders of magnitude closer than the NFL situation, since he was targeting a specific individual member of the media who was present in a crowd he knew was already angry at the media, and whom he had repeatedly previously personally attacked.

It may be too subtle for you, but some of us see it.
Ms. Toad
(34,073 posts)The OP claimed "openly inciting violence."
Openly inciting violence means expressly encouraging violent acts (as he has done in the past), not agreeing with people booing.
There is enough that he is doing to be outraged about. We should not be using inflammatory language when it is not accurate or warranted.
