The info that LBJ knew Nixon betrayed the U.S. was not anywhere as painful when I learned he didn't do anything with it. Humphrey could have won the election and Vietnam would have shut down in Months.I will never forgive LBJ for that.

I can't say positively, but HR Haldeman's notes were declassified just prior to that article and it was the first I had ever heard of it.

in Clark Clifford's memoir. If I remember correctly, at the time he wrote about it (1991) he stated that it was known but they couldn't prove it definitely. He seemed to have no doubt that it actually happened and even discussed how it happened. I'm not sure when it got proven.

copped out at a critical time. After he announced he wasn't running he still refused to stop bombing. I would like to see an analysis of that decision, given that his decision not to run would seem to take his own political future as motivation off the table.

Thom Hartmann has played a tape of LBJ detailing this in a phone conversation with I think Everett Dirkson....who agreed with LBJ.

I watchd the first two episode and hen just ordered the whole thing on Blu Ray from PBS....which benefits PBS, they deserve our support.

But overall, he did a terrific job. I'm glad future generations will at least get a glimpse of what a traitor Nixon was.
