If you don't understand why Kaepernick knelt down for police accountability in this country, this

Very telling poster. I had not seen all the deaths listed in one place before.

If you don't understand why Kaepernick knelt down for police accountability in this country, this is why.

And everyone pretending it's about disrespect to whatever is also a liar. (and a racist)

It's about injustice. It's about racism. It's about a country pretending to be something it is so obviously not as evidenced by the treatment of people of color.

It's about the contradiction between saying (and celebrating) everyone is equal under the law against all the evidence that says otherwise.

It's about all the trappings of self-congratulations to a country that does not live up to the very ideals people are patting themselves on the back for, and then those same people attacking the victims of bigotry for daring to point out the disparity.

People who have attacked Colin Kaepernick demand respect for a song and a piece of material but deny respect to a human. And it is the song and a piece of material those people actually care about - for if they gave a damn about what those symbols represented, Colin Kaepernick would have never felt compelled to take a knee against racism and the injustices wrought by racism.

People don't get to claim to honor the flag or the national anthem and then pretend they don't understand what all the fuss is about when people of color respectfully bend the knee against racism/injustice.

All their disingenuous posturings of offense merely serves to further expose their ignorance and your racism.
