EPA is spending $25,000 to construct a secure, soundproof communications booth for Scott Pruitt

https://politicalwire.com/2017/09/26/epa-spending-25k-phone-booth-pruitt/

“The Environmental Protection Agency is spending nearly $25,000 to construct a secure, soundproof communications booth in the office of Administrator Scott Pruitt,” the Washington Post reports.

“Typically, such soundproof booths are used to conduct hearing tests. But the EPA sought a customized version — one that eventually would cost almost several times more than a typical model — that Pruitt can use to communicate without fear of being monitored.”

Perhaps we can visit him in prison, where he has his own soundproof room.

in the WashPost article linked in the OP ) could backfire. One of the WashPost commenters noted:

p62 of SCIF standards say "a) SCIFs shall be controlled by SCI-indoctrinated personnel or by an AO- approved ACS to ensure access is restricted to authorized personnel." That means that lobbyists / company executives cannot be allowed into his office anymore if it is a SCIF."
