"Fox News Just Defied Trump, Reported the Truth about Puerto Rico."

http://verifiedpolitics.com/fox-news-just-defied-trump-reported-truth-puerto-rico/

While President Trump today praised his administration for “doing a really good job” providing disaster relief for Puerto Rico, a view from ground level tells a radically different and very disturbing story.

Geraldo Rivera, reporting for Fox News from the San Juan Airport, where people are waiting in lines for six hours or more to get out, was candid in his assessment of the situation on the island where more than half of the 3.2 million residents are still without power and many more without water or food.

“It is mind-boggling how slow the relief effort has been,” an agitated Rivera told Shep Smith, who was in Fox’s New York studio. “There has been one relief flight all day yesterday.”

“It doesn’t seem the pedal has been put to the medal if you get my meaning,” added Rivera. “This is a catastrophe.”
This story is a very personal one for the veteran reporter and show host. His mother is a Jewish New Yorker and his father was a Catholic from Puerto Rico who moved to in New York. Rivera told Smith he is getting calls from his family in the Bronx about his relatives in Puerto Rico but the communications system is so destroyed that he is not yet able to reach them all to make sure they are all right.

Lack of communication and accurate information was a killer after Katrina

Better communication was a life saver during Harvey

they like the little hands fuhrer have suddenly realized how all those potential Democrats coming from "that island in the big ocean" might change the voting in... oh, I don't know Florida.

So all at once poor little Puerto Rico gets some long delayed love. That's it. Don't give Fox or he who should not be named any credit for what amounts to a kind of death bed conversion.

The networks are so damn busy analyzing a bloody Republican primary in Alabama that they don't have time to speak one word about Puerto Rico. Trump gets up and brags about what a wonderful job HE is doing and nobody bothers to call him on it. This from a guy who probably didn't even know the Puerto Rico was a) an island and b) was part of the USA, and c) that Puerto Ricans are US Citizens by birth until somebody cued him in on it recently.

And the truth that nobody dares speak is that the reason that Puerto Rico is not getting aid like Florida or the Houston area is because the population isn't white!!!! So Trump doesn't give a shit! They aren't neo-Nazis, or White Supremacists, or (even worse) they can't vote for him, so he doesn't give a shit. He wouldn't even think about them if his advisors hadn't bullied him into talking about them. And Congress is going to adjourn on Friday without bothering to pass an aid bill. They got one for Texas, and one for Florida, but the GOP can't be bothered to pass a bill for Puerto Rico.

And the God Dammed MSM can't be bothered to even talk about it! Lets talk about Roger Stone, let's talk about Roy Moore, but for God's sake, let's not talk about a couple of hundred thousand American citizens who have no food, no water, no gasoline, no insulin, and are begging for help. No, we can't talk about that. Might not get as good ratings as some football player taking a knee!

OK, rant over. I have to go puke and mourn the country that I used to know.

Trump has defied Fox, not the other way around.

His repeated refusals to provide the wingnut-corporate complex with even a gloss of humanitarian feeling is leading them to withdraw support.

Fox is where the GOP gets its orders, not the other way around. That rule hasn't changed for Trump.

That's the way it is with some people.

They have no empathy until it happens to them
or someone they love.
