Carmen Yulin Cruz

Ms. Cruz is the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I don't have any news about her, but I do have an opinion. She is awesome. She has been interviewed multiple times by multiple news outlets every day since Maria hit Puerto Rico. She has been slogging through the city, knocking on doors and checking on citizens. She seems understandably exhausted. She is emotionally involved with the people of her city. She is well-spoken. She has sounded the alarm about conditions in her city again and again in the last few days. Her frustration with the rescue effort coming from the mainland is palpable. She moves me to act again tonight.

I wish I could vote for her to represent me. She is truly a public servant and, needless to say, is a stark contrast to our bumbling leader.
