Donald Trump tweets that he spoke with Cowboys' Jerry Jones about anthem

President Donald Trump tweeted about the NFL for a fifth consecutive day, this time saying he spoke with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about his desire for players to stand for the national anthem.

"Spoke to Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys yesterday," Trump tweeted early Wednesday morning. "Jerry is a winner who knows how to get things done. Players will stand for Country!"

Messages left by USA TODAY Sports to the Cowboys organization Wednesday morning were not immediately returned.

agreeing to threaten the livelihood of his players unless they obey Cheetolini? That is an unconstitutional abuse of power by the resident.

All they care is they got their precious majority, and nothing else matters. I mean if it were a democratic president in charge and they had called a private citizen a "son of a bitch", the republicans would have been calling for them to be burned at the stake.

now never stand for the anthem. I do not include "under God" in the pledge and haven't flown the American flag since the invasion of Iraq.

that this conversation took place. Call out Trump as a liar. At least he said the conversation happened after the MNF demonstration. I personally don't like kneeling during the anthem (I think it is a loser as an issue along with my belief that displays of patriotism are important to unify the country). I think the Cowboys approach called attention to the issue without getting into the disrespect for the flag thing. I noticed how quickly it shined a light on how many still don't like it even though all the parameters have now been satisfied.

Unfortunately the conversation may very well have happened.

Especially over something like institutional racism, they want America to be a better place meanwhile the Trump campaign did one of the most unpatriotic things you could do.

Trump lying: "Was I preoccupied? Not at all. Not at all."

Trump telling the truth: "I have plenty of time on my hands," Trump said defending his time spent on the subject.

Trump lying after accidentally telling the truth: "All I do is work."

5th fucking day of tweeting about the NFL while Americans die in Puerto Rico. This is some sick shit. GOP has to realize by now that he is utterly incapable of carrying out the duties of the office he holds.

This tweet is the kiss of death for the Cowboy players and coaches.

As for JJ,( the J stands for Judas) he now must fire the first player that kneels.....every player on every team they play is going to pin their ears back and come gunning for the 'Boys

Kapernick, et al, were praying for a better country (MAGA) - one without racial division. Anyone who doesn't kneel is anti- X-tian.
