Fireable offense:
1. being gay
2. being Mexican
3. being a Muslim
4. being black
5. being ill
6. being "uppety" (making too much money and not being "thankful&quot
7. being liberal
8. being a scientist
9. being a Jew

Does anybody else see a pattern here?

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Socialist.

"Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

"Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew.

"Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.

for same gender partners did so too soon.

Sexual orientation is not a protected class.
Getting married outs you (public records)
Partner A, employed in a place that offers domestic benefits, is obviously OK.
BUT Partner B may work in a place that is hostile to gays.

If the couple is forced to marry (and create a public record of sexual orientation) in order for Partner B to have access to decent and affordable health care, Partner B may lose his or her job because forcing gay couples to marry to get benefits when they are not yet otherwise protected from discrimination forces them (us) to choose between the relative safety of being closeted & access to healthcare through our spouses.
