Ad from photography studio advertising cotton field sessions. Ad shows pics of white children in fields of cotton. Very glamour type photos, one of white family near dilapidated machinery in cotton field.

They are often totally tone-deaf as well, fetishizing "authentic" tools, shacks and machines in a racist and classist way.

But the fact is, it provides a fabric that is a big part of all of our lives, we all like to wear it. It is also a beautiful plant. I love photos of cotton and I love the feel of cotton. I wish the connotation wasn't there.

has a very different feel to me than wearing cotton harvested fairly, or even using single stems as decoration.

Especially since every single shot when I do a Google search is of white families. Pages and pages of white families.
