How? Wth?

Took my 12 year old out of school and we flew down to see Tom at Red Rocks in May. Best concert of my life and so happy we got to share it together. This is a horrible day.

When your kiddo comes to you and says he loves Tom Petty and can we please go see him...it didn't take much arm twisting. We were just listening to Tom Petty Radio yesterday in the car and reminiscing about what a great show it was and how we never get sick of hearing him. I may have to leave work early today and have a good cry before my son gets off the bus.

I've only been to Red Rocks when it was empty. I've always hoped to return and see someone great like Petty.

And when it's empty, run from the stage to the top of the seats.

It takes a week to get your breath back.

Those hard-living, fun-lovin' seventies are catching up with us. These days I'm just happy when I wake up in the morning!

Shit. Hell. Damn. I loved Petty. My whole immediate family loves him. My 30yo son adores him.

My wife wanted to go but I shrugged it off thinking we could probably see him at a later time. Now I really wish I went damn, All my friends said it was a great concert. He will be missed.
