ABCs Robin Roberts breaks down in tears on live TV while covering Las Vegas massacre

On an extended edition of Good Morning America, Roberts and co-host George Stephanopoulos spoke to a mother who narrowly escaped death in the shooting.

The woman explained that she saw men die as they effectively became human shields for their loved ones.

“There were men going over their wives, their girlfriends to block them,” the survivor explained. “Those men got shot.”

As the woman talked, Roberts’ eyes watered up.

“What you endured,” she said as her voice cracked, “by the grace of God.”

strong about this, this should not happen.

And these survivors are going to need long term , intense psychological therapy so that their children have "strong" parents and so they survive this long term.

They are going to have a long road back. I doubt that "normal" will ever return to their lives. I join you in that FUCK YOU to the NRA and GOP and any Democrats won't fight for gun control.

Democrats and Independents also need to be held accountable for their vote. Gun control needs to be addressed and controlled.

So many dead and wounded, needlessly.

"Helping your students cope with terrorism." Fuck. What kind of shitty world are we living in? What's it like to be a kid in Yemen or Syria, for the love of God?

Right after I got that email, a student -- a varsity football player -- got a text, broke into tears, and ran out the door.

I'm gonna drink beer now, and be very, very grateful for the many blessings I have. And later be pissed at all the "but the second amendment!" selfish fucks.
