Theft insurance - not looking for advice, more looking for experience.

Long story short, three rings were stolen from me from someone the house cleaners hired. New guy. Thanks a lot. The rings weren't insured via a rider. My husband called our insurance and we filed a police report. Two of the rings were found at a local pawn shop and returned to me. Thief (they know who he is, there's a warrant out for his arrest) says he gave pawn shop all three. Third ring not found is significantly more expensive. Pawn shop denies they have it.

Assuming we don't locate it, can I make a claim against the cleaners? Has anyone gone through something like this? They are bonded and insured.

The former employee admitted to her that he did it. I'm waiting to hear from my insurance company.

Shame on me for being too busy to insure the ring separately. Really, idiocy on my part. Just too busy. But I got back the two rings that were my mother's for my daughters, so that's something.

Again, thanks
