I don't have the time or the inclination to argue with you over a digital copy of a painting. I would make an argument that it is public domain, especially since there is no circle c on the work and the site where I found it does not indicate any restricted use.

I will delete the picture just for you. However, I would expect you to question every meme, gif and other picture that is posted on DU in the future. You know, just to be consistent.

Also, if you have information that the work is copyrighted and the owner of the work does not want it shared even after it was posted on another website, perhaps you should PM me or tell me what the hell you are talking about instead of dribbling out cryptic information as to why you object to the posting of the photo. If you had told me that 1) you are the artist or 2) you know the artist or 3) anything else that indicated that fair use of the photo is not in effect...then I would have gladly deleted it.

Does not require a c or anything else making it a copyrighted. If the author did not give tough permission and you did not get it from a host with fair use on all hosted images, then you post the link where's you got it from. By just posting the image, you are presenting it as yours even if you do not say so directly. It is everyone's responsibility to protect copyrighted because this may be the next one taken and shared without permission.

I know all about copyrights. You are ignoring a few things. Public domain and fair use. And you know it is not as clear as just what you typed above. I deleted the damn pic. Let it go.

Great picture

I don't have a photo hosting account...I'm not good with that stuff. When I posted it originally, I just linked to the image. It was a compelling photo of Trump golfing amongst the ruins in Puerto Rico. I believe that the person that posted it on another site was not the original artist, so it has probably been viewed and shared a million times already. But I had to take it down because someone here feels like getting into the complexities and nuances of copyright law. What that person does not realize that just about everything on this site is taken from somewhere else, and then posted here.

Thanks for your response, Floyd. I'm going to go report some gifs to the authorities. That'll learn 'em.

PS...all of the crap going on, and someone has to complain about this.

2 days in a row now that someone gives me crap because I didn't do something right or word something exactly right. Had someone yesterday ask me "where I went wrong" and that I need to get my life in order. So I ignore it, right? Figured the person needed to cool down and waited for them to say something. Right after I get told to get my life together, I get a text that my friend finally passed after struggling with leukemia. I wasn't going to respond to the person, but that put me right over the freakin' edge man. So I gave that person a STERN TALKING TO!!!!!
