(58,691 posts)at least that was the clip they showed. Maybe it was about her interviews throughout the year, she's pretty good at it.
I'd like to think it was about a body of work, not just a single interview with a dysfunctional woman like KC.

(97 posts)to us, the artisans. We are the canaries in the coal mine.
Our work on high-end homes and businesses is the first to be
cut. Who needs our embellishments when there's a simple
Home Depot fix?
Our income reported to our state for the first quarter of 2017 was in
excess of 100K. Our income for the second quarter of 2017 was below
30K. I haven't even begun to tally our third quarter, due 10/31/17
because I already know the answer... We have had to borrow on
credit cards to meet our expenses.
I'd be happy to verify, privately.
We are screwed. We sold our home to salvage our business in 2011,
as we had been paying our employees with our home equity to keep
our business running and relevant after the 2008 collapse.
The funds from the sale of our home kept us alive for three years.
We have no home to sell this time.
We are screwed.

(90,770 posts)...it is a plea for understanding posted in the wrong place (two screens open?) and at worst it it an attempt to hijack the thread.

(9,696 posts)Maybe that's not the inten. This information on a thread with nothing in common to the topic, or really even relevant to DU in general is out of place.
YES, congrats to Rachel. I love her.
The second line was "she opened with September job losses".
So, go fund yourself. It was relevant. This is why I don't post
often, because people here at DU are plucky and privileged.

(18,640 posts)I can't imagine the prep work that goes into putting her show together every day. The way she begins a show by bringing up something like endangered prairie dogs or an obscure political figure and tying it into a topical issue is refreshingly innovative. You never know where she's going until the story unfolds.
Also, the fact that she covers stories that no one else is talking about means she often sets the agenda for other shows the next day. While others are blathering endlessly about the latest tweet, she's talking about what the WH is doing behind the scenes.
Congrats!

(16,786 posts)at what she does. Her intro segments are FACT filled. She does not glamourize the negative in news events. She is a straight shooter who tells the truth and seeks it from the experts.
Rock on, Rachel. I will miss her show while I am overseas.
