White Supremacists chant 'Russia is our friend' in Charlottesville.

Forgive me if this has already been posted: From The Daily Beast: White Supremacists Return to Charlottesville Chanting, ‘Russia is Our Friend’:

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia—White supremacist Richard Spencer suddenly reappeared on Saturday night with torch-bearing supporters, two months after he organized an infamous hate march here.

Spencer and his 50 or so followers gathered around a statue of Robert E. Lee in Emancipation Park chanting white supremacist slogans.

“They were shouting ‘You will not replace us,’ ‘Russia is our friend,’ ‘the South will rise again,’ ‘we'll be back,’” said a University of Virginia faculty member, who wished not to be named for fear of retribution.

A group of locals responded to Spencer's demonstration by gathering in Emancipation Park and marching to UVA President Teresa Sullivan's house, where campus police halted them at the front porch. Sullivan has been under fire for failing to stop Spencer’s march on August 11 when hundreds of white supremacists bearing torches gathered around a statue of Thomas Jefferson chanting racist slogans including “Jews will not replace us.”

The Russia thing has me scratching my head.

I didn't read your link as I already read many reports. I did watch the whole live stream that Spencer posted of the rally.

I don't want these people in my town. I wish the First Amendment could be selectively applied.

U.S. Nazis and White Nationalists have found common ground with their Russian counterparts.

Richard Spencer and Jack Posobiec have Russian wives. No accident.

Putin knew how to fire up the racist element of Trump's base to get them to the polls.

He knew and used all the racist hot buttons to push via Russia's social media infiltration: Demonizing BLM, fake news about immigrant crime, b.s. about white genocide.

referred to it as a "white activist" march. it looks as if the push back was so severe they changed it to "white nationalist" but as you can see the URL was not changed.

i learned this on twitter and the tweet referring to the story is no longer available.

I think they actually followed them in case they went to the bicentennial activities for UVA, which were in full swing at that time. There was some stuff going on at Ix Art Park as well, which is downtown and about a half mile south of Emancipation Park. There would have been a bad reaction to them if they had arrived there.

I don't want this scum in my town.
