1. That's why General Kelly is there in the White House

When Cheeto gets ready to push the nuke button, Kelly will take out his gun and shoot him.
The Generals all know that Trump is crazy and they won't let him start World War 3.

10. I certainly hope so. He is an absolute nightmare.

I just hope that someone in that administration will put this country above his own career/personal benefit enough to make the sacrifice. I don't have a lot of faith in them, but you never know. There is always a little bit of hope.

7. I think we are seeing a reigned-in version. Otherwise it would be significantly worse.

The man is mentally ill and not too smart.
We can only imagine what he would do with no restraints.

11. I agree. They are a buffer, but you know how he is when someone tries to tell him what to do.

He is defiant. It's like handling a volatile chemical, you have to handle him with kid gloves because you never know how he is going to react. The only way to rein him in is to make him think that whatever plan you have, that it's his idea. He will never listen to anyone else or follow advice. He's just too much of a raging egomaniac for that.

They are not magicians and cannot wave a wand and make their boss a normal human being.

3. I wonder if the Joint Chiefs of Staff have already discussed options.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. You don't get to be a 4 star general by letting an imbecile ruin your career.

who felt tear gas a few times protesting a war, I can tell you it's a sad day when we are relying on some old white generals to save our country from ruin. This is the exact opposite of what the founding fathers intended.

13. Tony Schwartz contributed an essay to the book The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump
Tue Oct 10, 2017, 06:56 AM

compiled by a Yale psychiatrist who held a conference on the duty to warn. There are other essays from over 25 psychiatrists and mental health experts.

The book is #11 at Amazon--temporarily out of stock--and I am reading it now. I would highly recommend it and hope that more than a few Republican
Senators and Congressional Reps are reading it.

The man is dangerous. He needs to be removed from office NOW!!!! To quote Schwartz "He reacts rather than reflects, and damn the consequences. This is what makes his access to the nuclear codes so dangerous and frightening."

And:

"In the hundreds of Trump's phone calls I listened in on with his consent, and the dozens of meetings I attended with him, I can never remember anyone disagreeing with him about anything. The same climate of fear and paranoia appears to have taken root in his White House."
