Not only a misogynist but a basher. Gay bashing and misogyny go hand in hand.
And all over a comb-over joke about Rudy Giuliani? The guy is a certified nut case.
I'm a big Nathan Lane fan. Weinstein needs to go away.

Amid the allegations of sexual harassment against Harvey Weinstein, Broadway funnyman Nathan Lane recounted an incident where the producer attacked him at Hillary Clintons birthday party in 2000.
The Birdcage star was the emcee at the event thrown by the 65-year-old mogul, a longtime supporter of the Clintons, and Weinstein blew up at the actor for telling a comb-over joke about Rudy Giuliani, reports Page Six.
This is my fking show, we dont need you, Weinstein reportedly said to Lane, tossing the actor against a wall.
During an interview at the New Yorker Festival on Saturday night, Lane recalled firing back, You cant hurt me, I dont have a film career.

(985 posts)I guess it's good to out public figures who are abusive, but it's kind of strange when everyone piles on after years of silence.

(46,166 posts)So that's why powerful people who are abusive get away with it. It just takes too much courage to go after them and they know this. You have to be willing to risk everything you've worked for since you'll no doubt lose it all.

(6,929 posts)rumors about him for years. Google his name and Gretchen Mol. He had a lot of power and could ruin careers. A typical Hollywood monster.

(33,982 posts)What can you do with someone like him saying 'you'll never work in this town again'? You think that alone would topple him? He doesn't even have to say anything. He could sit there with a fucking smile on his face, and ruin someone in show business behind the scenes.
I don't blame the victims one bit. Unequal power levels at play here.

it's utter BULLSHIT that nothing could be done about that guy until now - the simple fact is, HE WAS ENABLED - THOSE people need to be investigated NOW (NO I am NOT referring to the victims here)

(46,166 posts)They build their world around them like a kind of closed shop. The understandings had to be quite clear. And his being at the top of the organization gave him ultimate power. At least until people who have some power of their own or who don't need him felt that they could finally come forward.
Maybe the women who came forward to reveal what Trump did to them gave others the courage to speak out. They created the climate for it.

(26,076 posts)With his New Yorker article. The same NYC DA who chose to drop felony charges against Ivanka and Donnie Jr. alos decided not to charge Weinstein.
And, come on, Skittles. You are blaming teh victims, most fo who were young women. They were his employees and potential employees. I don;t wear a wire when I have a meeting with my boss.

It's a cruel world and rich people, egotistical, narcissistic, rich people are uniquely positioned to exercise as much cruelty as amuses them.

(11,949 posts)So I am a liberal. But a redneck at heart. Some fat ass guy, or even a cut guy that can break my arm throws me against a wall, I am picking up the heaviest object in my reach and applying it to their head. You can say anything to me even the most vile and I will laugh. You grab me, and you enter a new world.
Who puts up with shit like this?

(11,949 posts)Not blaming anyone for their decision. Just stating that if you are in a position of power and throw me against a wall, you are getting something across your head. That might not be a good decision for many people.
I am a Social Democrat. I am not a pacifist. You physically attack me I will come out hard. That does not make me a victim blamer.
And please keep in mind the story I was responding to was about a man being assulted at a party. Not someone being pressured for a career enhancement. That is totall different and I would never criticize any decision they made since it is a horrible situation.
Have a nice evening
