some exceptions, is pretty much covered in trees. But they're all gone. I mean, you are using the word "all". Even if that were the case. What's that got to do with the OP? What's the implication here?

15. Yes, the trees are largely gone. And that means less rainfall

Forests actually generate a large amount of rainfall through transpiration, where the leaves "breath" out water vapor, generating clouds and fog. With the forests decimated, rainfall falls off. And when most of the island has no potable water, reduced rainfall is a serious danger when it's all you have to live off of.

And my info comes from family on the island. It's a disaster my wife's 83yr old grandmother has never seen there before.

Of course. No doubt. Every single tree gone? As in every one of them. No. I was specifically asking the poster above why they brought that specific point up when one can clearly see trees in the background.

18. A few trees still standing makes no difference

I'm sure there are some trees left. But a few percent intact is not nearly enough to sustain the rainfall patterns that used to dominate the island.

Yes, you can see individual trees in the background. That is BAD. You shouldnt be able to see so many individual trees; you should see walls of green. The forests I hiked through just a few years ago were straight-up jungle: bamboo thickets, vines, orchids, iguanas, wild chickens, etc.

it sound like they were trying to be a smart ass. Or implying something by their cryptic comments. Just like they're doing below. So I asked them a very specific question. I know damn well what the place used to look like.

8. FEMA is LYING to ALL HURRICANE VICTIMS

I'm a current victim of their promises and lies after losing everything to Hurricane Harvey near ground zero in Texas. We have been denied aide by the red cross and FEMA as they put us on the street after it took a month to get in a motel for transitional housing. They say we have to prove losses and should be back in our demolished homes by now as it's been a month. Homeowners with losses or damage to roofs are receiving thousands and we are being brushed aside not worthy of their time as they proclaim to help. Red cross is randomly helping and denying most. Millions were donated but none has been seen here so in am we are homeless and disabled while they keep lying to the public. .
