(16,387 posts)1. This whole thing reminds me of the stories about Jack Warner
Back in his day Warner wielded a lot more power than Weinstein ever did and there's no telling what he was able to get away with in that era.
Warner might actually be worse given that he did all the sex predator stuff and was a Republican who turned over names of writers to HUAC. A scumbag's scumbag.

They practically choreographed their stars private lives. Unfortunately, Weinstein hob-nobbed with progressives and donated loads of money to Democratic candidates, many of whom have returned their donations at this point.

whom he harassed because she wouldn't have sex with him. He bugged her dressing rooms and generally treated her contemptuously and spitefully.

(6,044 posts)5. So bored with the "men so weak" bs.
This is the old "men so lacking in self-control, women must change the way they look, free, act, and talk.....
It goes together with "women so emotional and lacking in rationality that they can't be trusted with important work."
If Weinstein was so lacking in self-control, the board did him a favor by getting him out of the company.
