I probably will get roasted for this but here goes

Watching the Las Vegas sheriffs presser the timeline change caused more questions for me. In taking active shooter training at nauseam one thing is stressed, during an active shooter event law enforcement first priority is to get to the shooter, rescue of civilians is secondary.

From the security officer they knew floor and room number so why were they clearing rooms? Why the big delay in breaching the door? Were they that confident the shooter was done?

The girlfriend?

Protective custody? I would assume if she's free to move about some reporter would have seen her?

Just questions I am not trying to suggest wrong doing although I did hear some security experts say Mandalay bay may have questions to answer about their security.

It's not clear that they knew that the security officer was there. The police found him when they arrived.

"so why were they clearing rooms?"

They would have known the guard was shot from one room. They would not know whether there were multiple shooters in other rooms.

But early on it was reported the security officer radioed or phone he was injured and his location. I'm curious if he went directly to 9 11 or his security dispatch?

is that "it was reported" reliably indicates "someone said that". Where "someone" got that information, or whether the source was filling in gaps with inferences, is not usually well laid out.

How well hotel security may have been communicating with an entire chain of command with all hell breaking loose is an open question.

"security officer radioed or phone he was injured and his location" - at what point? Clearly, he didn't leave the floor, since he was still there when the police arrived. If he was immobile, he may have been unconscious or not wanting to move or make any noise.

all those people.
So was the guard unable to communicate with hotel security - even before the police arrived? No one else heard all those shots at the security guard?
Something sounds seriously wrong here.
