They can't win reelection without Trump's base. If you look at his disapproval numbers, by party, the majority of repubs still support him. (gasp!) Plus they are hoping to get their tax cuts through. If the Con fails on that & the market starts to drop, then we might see more GOP get on board with Corker.

I'm starting to prepare myself for 7 more years of this asshole & the fact that this country is toast. No one is doing anything about the deficiencies in our electoral process, so why should we expect different results in 2018/20? If gerrymandering goes as badly for the dems in 2020 as it did in 2010, we will lose the House for a second decade. One more SCOTUS nom by the GOP & the court will be stacked against The People, for decades. It's as grim a situation as I've ever seen in this country during my life. I think we were as divided in the 60s, but the republican party hadn't gone totally extremist, like they are now, & the media still reported news as news & not as entertainment.
