The flag is just a piece of multi-colored cloth. By itself, it symbolizes certain values. But the values are not in the flag, because flags are brainless inanimate objects and cannot have symbolic concepts. The conceptual values are imputed onto the flag by people. Different people have different concepts about both the flag and the cross. But I think that what you're getting at is the hypocracy of people in their attitude toward one, and not the other. It is not logical. Bigoted people are not logical, because hatred has made them stupid.

They are marching straight to Hell, being led by Trump and his gang, to burn in hot flames, breathing sulfurous fumes, and being tormented by little Devils (who look kinda like Jeff Sessions). And marching with them are the televangelists and religious leaders who see what Trump is doing and don't condemn him. If only we had CCTV for Hell. Maybe the televangelists would repent and get jobs scrubbing floors in hospitals. Except for Pat Robertson -- as long as he can praise Trump, he doesn't mind being in Hell with him.

(I couldn't press the "Sarcasm" button.)
