Nadeem Mazen sees himself as Donald Trump's 'worst nightmare' in run for Congress

?itok=DLkjvqBS

Nadeem Mazen, a Cambridge City Councilor who is running for Congress in Massachusetts' third district, claimed he would be Donald Trump's worst nightmare in Congress, a title he welcomed after another candidate for U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas' seat opened her campaign with the same remark.

Mazen, who joined Boston Herald Radio's "Morning Meeting" show, said he agreed with State Rep. Juana Matias, who branded herself as Trump's worst nightmare when she declared she would run for higher office.

"I certainly agree with statements like that," Mazen said. "I think it’s great, by the way, to have a field of candidates that have the potential to be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare. But I also think it’s great that those candidates want to be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare in a way that serves people, stays close to home and opens up the opportunity for dialogue with Republicans who also want to be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare at this really critical and unusual time."

Mazen said he doesn't view those remarks as controversial.
