It was President Obama's comments at the Correspondents Dinner. Try to have some fun by directing some harmless roasting at a sociopath and they won't react well. Trump is willing to destroy America over this. His level of depravity is limitless. I've always hated Trump, but I never could have imagined he was such a wounded man. Scary stuff.

That is most definitely the major reason.

When Obama joked about him at that dinner, he knew right then and there, what he wanted to do, run for President and if he won, he would DESTROY Obama's legacy.

Maybe being laughed at gave him the reason to do so.

when you laugh at a bully, they get even ...or will try their best to make your life a living hell.

The grand plan is to completely divorce the people from the federal government. The 20 wealthiest Americans have more combined wealth than half the populace. The Kochs are among the 20 and they drive policy, as well as strategy.

Fomenting and exploiting bigotry, particularly racism, is key to getting people to elect those who want to destroy the safety net and regulations. Absent racism, the Republican Party would cease to be viable. It's the primary tool in their toolkit.
