"Roughly 10.5 million Americans receive a subsidy for their insurance under the ACA. That means millions of people will wake up tomorrow and realize they can no longer afford their health insurance. People in California who just lost everything in the fires. People in Texas and Florida who were devastated by the hurricanes. People whose children have cancer or who have cancer themselves. People who work multiple jobs. People who have horrible, debilitating autoimmune disorders, mental health disorders etc. Every single person who is reading this should be outraged."~ Shannon Argueta.

(51,593 posts)I am one of the millions who is now going to be bankrupt and bankrupt my parents too(both are 83) and still die as a result of this. OH JOY!!!!!! What is the point of all of this....? I DO want to live long enough to see 45 and the GOP go down in humiliating flames. I want the GOP to be as dead as I will be and 45 and his family to live forever in agonizing, indescribable pain because that is what I will endure if I do not have continual surgeries needed to reduce my pain until I eventually die. I AM serious!

(54,770 posts)cost-sharing subsidies.
The premium subsidies are the most important and they continue (at least for now).
There are two types of subsidies available to marketplace enrollees. The first type of assistance, called the premium tax credit, works to reduce enrollees monthly payments for insurance coverage.
The second type of financial assistance, the cost-sharing subsidy, is designed to minimize enrollees out-of-pocket costs when they go to the doctor or have a hospital stay. In order to receive either type of financial assistance, qualifying individuals and families must enroll in a plan offered through a health insurance Marketplace.

While this dotard is trying his best to damage people covered under the ACA, one way to resist his attempts is to understand what he is doing. If the NPR article above is accurate, it looks like middle income people -- who make too much to receive premium subsidies -- will be paying increased premiums because of Trump's action today. If only they realize that, they would turn against the buffoon and GOP.
