Whoever the GOP puts up will be a sacrifice, like Bob Dole in 1996. Jeb doesn't want to tarnish any real chance he might have later.

I think the GOP will now concentrate on "damage control" to maintain the House, at least...

and knows that the Bush brand is still highly toxic in this country. He's been focused on 2016 for a while now. I honestly don't have any idea who would top the ticket if Mittwit is thrown overboard. Frothy? George Pataki? It sure ain't gonna be The Orange Man or Yertle.

If they'd have had any brains the Repukes would have nominated Huntsman in the first place, who would have been a formidable candidate. Only problem with Huntsman is that he is clearly of sound mind, which is a presumptive disqualifier in pukeland these days.

Sarah's cold hands before that could happen. Magoo even said she was a better candidate than Rmoney. And she is unemployed at this time. And there is blood in the water.

I think the Rethugs will stay with Romney, but if they did drop him or he dropped out (it would be because of Ann's MS) would they turn to another Bush? At least in just 4 years? I share the opinion that Baby Bush is eyeing 2016.

Although Romney is not liked by many in the Rethug party he isn't Obama, changing horses at this point would seem really risky. Before that happens Romney will hope the Olympics makes everyone forget. If not he will release the taxes in one GIANT bulk right before the convention this would give them the best environment to spin it. If the problem it to big to spin I think they would go with Santorum or Newt.

Those are of course just opinions but politics is a spectator sport.

A face saving move that might generate some sympathy.
Although we all know she is getting the best possible medical treatment for it.
Much better than would be achievable by many of us.

As poster above notes, Bush name still toxic. And Jeb won't want to go up against an incumbant... he'll wait until '16. Whomever the Rs throw out there will be a sacrificial lamb willing to take one for the team. Wont have a prayer of winning, but will excite the base and hopefully prevent a down-ticket disaster. Newt, maybe. Bachman, perhaps.

And that's unlikely. I don't see anyone lurking in the shrubbery ready to replace him, either. Jeb Bush, the only one who seems at least to be able to walk upright and not drool, is smart enough not to want to get involved in this clusterfuck now (and I suspect he would also prefer to wait until the stench that was emanating from his brother has dissipated a bit more).

Who else have they got?

Herman Cain, the pizza magnate and serial sexual harasser.
Rick Perry, who has lowered the bar even farther for the level of brainpower of Texas governors.
Newt Gingrich, a serial adulterer and professional grifter whose ego is more inflated than the Hindenburg, and more likely to explode.
Rudy Giu911ani, whose marital history is almost as colorful as Gingrich's, and who has been photographed in drag.
Michele Bachmann, who is barking mad and whose husband would be problematic.
Rick "Nobody Ever Expects The Spanish Inquisition" Santorum.
Tim Pawlenty, who is even an even more fascinating person, and a more compelling speaker, than Mittens' dressage horse.

I suppose they could drag Tundra Snooki back from Wasilla, but that seems unlikely.

They don't have anybody. They're stuck with Mittens.

The Bush crime family is perfectly happy to have and to keep Obama as president.

Those people operate on a multi-generational level, and they understand full well that there is a pendulum that swings back and forth in politics, and in society. They understand full well that in order to be proficient at disaster capitalism, which they have done since the Civil War, there has to be something built up to destroy. And besides, corporate profits are at an all time high, while the productivity gains of the 99% are at an all time low. What do they have to complain about? I don't now, and have never seen the Bush's as being racists, so that's not a problem for them. Oh, they're perfectly willing to pander to the racists, but having a black president doesn't bother them.

Jeb will wait until 2016.
