(14,861 posts)That means it's a holiday for everyone in the nation. If anyone want to reserve Christmas for Christians and exclude everyone else, they need to change that first.

That said everything we need to know about these snake oil salesmen. I can see why they like Groper Don the Con.

(36,953 posts)Political Christians rather than Christians of faith.
They support Trump who says he is so perfect that he does not need Christ or his forgiveness.
Like today's evangelical/religious right supporters, Trump is a Political Christian, not a Christian of faith.
Evangelicals/religious right are easily able to spin their beliefs for political expediency.
The Donald who does not have to ask Jesus for forgiveness.

(50,567 posts)At best, Trump is a "Christmas Christian" - someone who only goes to church on the holidays, and then only because he's expected to. For some strange reason, I think swindling and pussygrabbing are not acceptable behaviors for Christians to exhibit.

And no Beatitudes, please. They're on a strict diet.

(81,527 posts)The so-called Christians are anything but, in thought, word, and/or deed.
When they start preaching to their sheeple about Matthew 25: 35-45, and expounding on the Beatitudes, THEN Ill believe theyre sincere followers of Christ. This so-called prosperity gospel theyve embraced, with the idea that if youre poor, that means you are being punished by or found worthless and sinful by God. Which is BEYOND bulkshit. As Scripture often tells us, He lives the poor and hung out with them almost exclusively.

(1,588 posts)and corrupt business practices often made possible by loose tax exemption laws. I prefer my cathedrals among the forests and the animals as fellow worshippers. No gold plated collection plates or false tv pleas there. Organized religion has no moral authority to tell anyone how to celebrate, or what to call it.

(14,178 posts)The most spiritual I feel, closest to God if you like, is when I am deep in a forest, surrounded by trees and listening to only the wind in the branches and bird songs. And I was brought up in a strict evangelical household.

I love Santa Claus's and collect them.
